Who we are and where to find us

About Harley

  • House of Hacks is a video based site related to making things.

  • Hooked on Light is about all things photographic. Generally the articles are instructional in nature, but they may also include announcements of photography related events in the Salt Lake City, UT area.

  • Skylark Software is about things related to software development. The entries can range from general practices to technology specific things related to what I'm interested in and/or working on at the time.

  • The Episodic Author is about everything else that I may feel inclined to write about other than photography or software development. Typically, they are essays that revolve around my views of Christianity or politics but may certainly creep into other areas as well.

  • Twitter has random communication.

  • Flickr has photos for display.

  • iStockPhoto has photos for sale.

About Diane

  • Twitter has random communication.

  • Delightful Light is a summary of all the blogs authored by Diane.

  • Delightful Light Paints is a journal of Diane's development in the world of color.

  • Delightful Light Plays is a journal of Diane's development in the world of sound.

  • Delightful Light Photography is a journal of Diane's development in seeing the works of God's hands.

  • Lamplighter's Celebration is a blog to communicate between like minded individuals who seek to develop the skills and disciplines of humbling ourselves in the sight of God while at the same time shaking off the burdens religions have bound up on our backs. This blog is a sort of road map towards unity in Christ without human leadership.

  • Songs of Endearment is Diane's attempt to volunteer for the community through specific prayer, prophetic words of knowledge, and through dream interpretations.

  • Ramandu's Song is a journal of the things Diane sees in the Holy Bible.

Harley's Twitter policy

Effective 22-Dec-2009, I post to four Twitter accounts:

  • hpebley3 receives all my postings: random stuff, religious, political, photographic, computers and software. Follow this stream if you want it all.
  • Hooked On Light receives just the photography related items I post on hpebley3. Follow this if you're interested in just the photography related postings.
  • Skylark Software receives all the computer and software related things I post on hpebley3. Follow this if you're interested in just the geeky stuff.
  • The Episodic Author receives all the random, religious and political postings. Follow this if you're interested only in the non-photography/computer/software geekdom postings.

This is a bit different than what I've done in the past. Previously, hpebley3 was the only account I posted to regularly. The other three were simply driven off the RSS feed for the accompanying blogs. In other words, the only things on those feeds were links to blog posts. They will now get a bit more traffic as I cross-post from the hpebley3 account. If you want it all, subscribe to hpebley3. If you want things filtered by topic, subscribe to one or more of the other three. If you subscribe to hpebley3 and one or more of the others, you'll get duplicate posts.

I hope that's all clear and that the change is helpful to my followers.

About me and this blog

Hi. I'm Harley and I'm a lot of things: Worshiper, Lover of God, Husband, Builder, Reader. These are a few of the words I'd use to describe myself. The Builder moniker has various manifestations which are hopefully guided by the previous self-identifications. Among them are developing software, wood working, auto mechanics, home improvement, playing music, writing and photography. This page is simply to point to some of the other places I write.

I have three blogs:

I also twitter.

If you're interested in my photography, I have a Flickr stream and I have some images for sale on iStockphoto.
